jklinkon: How can the city manager and councilmen of Arma dictate to the KDOT where they want the corridor to go. Why did you not get input from the landowners affected by the highway!!!!!!! We have farmed this land since 1920+- and would like input into this decision to cut our farm directly into two parts and destroy our lifetime investments. Also the proposal to turn US highway 71 in Missouri into an interstate was taken into consideration. 7/24/2010 5:06 PM
Priscilla Petersen: Response from KDOT: Although KDOT will make the final selection of the corridor location for the U.S. 69 expansion in Crawford County, we have actively sought input from local stakeholders, elected officials and the general public. One of our key advisory groups consists of officials from Arma, Girard, Frontenac, Pittsburg and Crawford County. KDOT has held several public meetings in previous years, and in spring of 2011 will host another public meeting concerning the most recent changes to the Crawford County Corridor. We continue to encourage questions and comments from all citizens during the preliminary engineering process. Thanks for your input. 7/28/2010 9:24 AM
